Dark Orchard CL Site – Hay-on-Wye

A quiet, relaxing, Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location Site

Dark Orchard CL is now closed for the 2023 Season, re-opening Easter 2024

Tucked away on edge of Hay-on-Wye, yet only a 5 minute walk to the town centre with all its pubs, restaurants, cafes, take-away’s, shops, venues and other attractions that this unique Welsh Marches market town has to offer, Dark Orchard Certificated Location (CL) is exclusively for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club only. If you are not already a member why not join so that you can stay at Dark Orchard CL.

Hay-on-Wye declared itself an independent kingdom in 1977 and is world renown as the second-hand book capital of the world. Hay-on-Wye is also know for the annual Hay Festival of Literature and the HowTheLightGetsIn philosophy and music festival, both held at the end of May. The town is ideally situated for visiting the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Welsh Marches. Hay Castle has undergone an extensive renovation and is now fully open as a major new visitor centre for culture, arts and education. Hay-on-Wye has a lively weekly Thursday Market, which features many local artisans and producers.

Dark Orchard CL is a level, well sheltered site with 5 grass pitches spread over a 2½ acre site, with plenty of space for awnings and pup tents etc. The site is bordered on one side by the Dulas Brook and divided by the Nantyglasdwr stream. Access to local footpath network is direct from the site, including the Wye Valley Walk and Offa’s Dyke Paths. There is a 2 mile circular river-side walk from the site, all dog and wheelchair friendly.  The local Co-op Supermarket is a 5 minute walk from site.

We have very limited availability for Hay Festival 2024 (Wednesday 22nd May to Sunday 2nd June) please contact us to enquire.
